The space is intimate and the menu is unpretentious, ethical, clever and always delicious. The drinks list plays to the same theme as local producers and growers are championed in every bite and sip. Butter-poached hāpuku rests in a mussel dashi shrouded in pickled daikon with sesame and spring onion, proving this is a chef who knows how to let the ingredients truly shine. The look is understated and the flavour is immense. Choose from a small selection of snacks and small plates or we strongly suggest the ‘just feed me’ menu with five courses for $99 per person.
