Step inside to experience the grandeur of days gone by when elegance was as important as money itself. Next to the Avon River, the Art Deco dining room with its high plastered ceilings and wooden wall panels is home to one of the hippest, most popular eateries in the garden city. Chef Floyd Lyttle has done a marvellous job developing a menu that is exciting and contemporary. His brisket pie is a revelation with its mouth-puckering plum jus and the crayfish bisque pasta, served with green-lipped mussels, was oh so moreish. Equally captivating were the starters of Lumina lamb ribs, their quirky coat of fried shallots adding playful texture. Do yourself a favour and top off a delightful meal with Floyd’s take on a burnt Basque cheesecake. Superb. All this is delivered with attentive service, a huge smile and generous portions of wine from a carefully crafted drinks list that has something for everyone.
