If you’re seeking a special meal while visiting Queenstown, this gorgeous restaurant in the luxury Roki Hotel, with its drop-dead views from high above the lake, is worth checking out for lunch or dinner, by reservation. It’s more casual than the Essence restaurant experience on the same site, but with luxury treats like a caviar bump or crayfish roll served as snacks, along with a list of must-have starters that are truly tempting. Choose a whole roast chicken or lamb shoulder to share for mains or excellent seafood dishes, all thoughtfully designed and cooked by chef Paul Froggatt. Underlying the menu is the chef’s love of fishing and the ocean, well reflected in his menu. And there’s also steak frites if you must. Drop in first for a cocktail or two at the fab bar alongside the restaurant. A great destination in summer when it’s calm and sunny, and in more inclement weather there are two glorious fireplaces to keep diners warm.
