Jervois Steak House, Queenstown

Textarea
A favourite for nearly two decades, Jervois Steak House has built its reputation on doing one thing exceptionally well: great steak. Since opening in 2006, the restaurant has celebrated premium beef from New Zealand alongside carefully selected cuts from Australia, Japan and the United States. Guests are invited to choose their preferred cut from the iconic meat board before leaving the rest to the experts, who cook every steak over high-powered broiler grills to achieve the perfect crust and flavour. While steak is the star, there's plenty more to discover. Start with the tuna tataki with daikon, wasabi mayo and spring onion, before moving on to the grilled alpine salmon finished with brown butter. Save room for the strawberry pavlova with mascarpone lemon curd and vanilla bean ice cream, a fittingly Kiwi finish to the meal. The drinks’ list is equally impressive, featuring an extensive selection alongside creative cocktails such as the blueberry twist with añejo tequila, apricot liqueur, blueberry shrub and lemon. Warm, polished service and a timeless dining room complete the experience, making Jervois Steak House a destination that continues to stand the test of time.
