IN BRIEF Another winner in the Josh Emett basket of excellent eateries

Textarea
Imagine a movie in which a super-glamorous Audrey Hepburn sashays her way into an upmarket Hollywood restaurant frequented by the rich and famous. This is that kind of place – stylish, beautifully appointed and classy. There’s a mix of seating, a fabulous bar and enough well-trained staff to anticipate your every wish. A talking point is the incredible drinks list that has wine by the glass, carafe and bottle from around the world, a spirits’ portfolio that could fill a warehouse, imaginative cocktails and some interesting beers from outside of the usual box. Owners Josh and Helen Emett certainly know how to turn it on. The kitchen, under the stewardship of chef Glen File, presents a menu of familiar classics such as a light-as-air triple-cheese soufflé and lamb cutlets made moreish with almonds, yoghurt and fried sage. But the standout has to be the beef bourguignon luxuriating in garlicky thyme. The rib strip was moist and tender and the depth of flavour exquisite. Just the ticket on a coolish autumn evening, or anytime really. Check website for opening hours MAINS: $34-$90
