Pici

Textarea
Looking for authentic, rustic and honest Italian cuisine? Find it here in this intimate yet bustling atmosphere where they serve darn-good food and wine. Drawing inspiration from his mother’s connection to Italy, the chef brings a less-is-more approach to dishes that are perennial favourites (think cacio e pepe and spaghettini vongole) or seasonal offerings that are based around a fresh, hero ingredient. The pasta is handmade on site each morning, the seafood is sustainably caught and the menu is refreshed every three months. You’ll be transported to a trattoria or Nonna’s table with the rustic-style scampi bisque, the aroma of butter and garlic an invitation to tuck in. Save room for desserts such as a dark chocolate and pistachio semifreddo with stand-out salted-caramel topping. Small-batch, mainly organic or bio-dynamic wines complement the menu and the warm welcome and service are a hallmark of genuine hospitality. Check website for opening hours. MAINS: $18-$36
