IN BRIEF Quintessential Kiwi kai

Textarea
It doesn’t come much more Kiwi than this super-special spot that has been located on SkyCity’s Federal Street for over a decade. It’s busy, buzzy and a testament to its creator’s original vision with most of the cooking over charcoal. The raw bar is not to be missed and the charcuterie menu is the business. A bowl of the woodfired tua tua slathered in chorizo butter is a gift from culinary heaven, especially alongside braised shoulder of lamb with courgette pickles and smoked yoghurt. The iconic fish sliders are a crowd pleaser and the classic cookie skillet straight from the oven with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce is a winner. And with Al Brown, the chef behind it all, now making his own wine – Tipping Point Wines – you can rest assured that the Depot team will find you the perfect drop.
