Tempero
Description
Textarea
Tiffany Low and Fabio Bernardini have created something chic, fashionable and delicious that marries a Latin-inspired menu with local product and produce to deliver something very special indeed. With a CV that showcases time spent crafting his skills at Auckland's The Grove and Mr Morris, as well as working as executive sous chef at Pujol in Mexico and Michelin-starred Saison in San Francisco, Fabio is one to watch. Tempero transports you to South and Central America from a small intimate space on K Road that is buzzing with energy. The menu brings new flavours that are influenced by a traditional approach and international experience, and the dishes are great for sharing. You can look forward to the more familiar lamb tacos, tuna tiradito and fish moqueca alongside unique tastes that include crispy pigs ears, cucumber salsa macha salad, and acarajé vatapá – a vegan version of a popular Brazilian street food made from puréed black beans formed into a ball and deep fried. Do not miss the mole negro with five tortillas or the pão de queijo (cheese balls). Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free requirements are easily catered to and a carefully curated wine list reflects the superb vision of this passionate team. The Latin-inspired cocktails are a must.
