Floriditas
Description
IN BRIEF Eternally good eating for fortunate Wellingtonians
Textarea
This beloved staple on Cuba Street has delighted diners for more than 20 years, a charming eatery that has become a favourite among Wellington’s food enthusiasts - and for good reason. The service is attentive, while the drinks menu is thoughtfully curated to complement the dining, rather than overshadow it. Chef Hayden McMillan brings his expertise to the table using premium ingredients with flair. A ploughman’s plate delivers a sensational pork and chicken liver terrine alongside smoked fish rillettes with Meyer gouda, pickles and rye. Hayden’s winter roast veges with lentils, pickles, nuts, seeds and lemon tahini are always a delight and, in a city that has made the burger into a phenomenon, Flo’s beef burger, made with Greenstone Creek ground beef, burnt onion mayo, provolone and pickles is one of the best we’ve had. Open seven days a week, Floriditas maintains its reputation for excellence in a challenging environment. The elegant, European-style space creates a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by an energetic front-of-house presence and Hayden’s culinary innovation. The evolving menu and approachable wine list ensure that every visit is a fresh experience.
