Terry and Mary Peabody have built a remarkable legacy at their winery, rooted in family values and a commitment to showcasing the rich culinary landscape of Hawke’s Bay. The restaurant’s menu continues to champion local producers, influencing the region’s food-and-drink narrative. Nestled between breathtaking Te Mata Peak and sprawling vineyards, diners are treated to chef Casey McDonald’s exceptional creations, which draw inspiration from the on-site kitchen gardens. Alongside, you can sample a diverse selection of wines, including their award-winning syrah and exquisite chardonnay under the expert guidance of the team. The 2025 menu has been refreshed with exciting new dishes that reflect the seasonality and abundance of local ingredients. Highlights include roasted duck breast, orange-braised endive with confit duck leg and drunken Morello cherries, and slow-cooked Tora coast pāua with crumbed green-lipped mussels and champagne sauce. We pray that Casey's potato focaccia will stay on the menu for eternity - it's a winner. By mid-September The Loft will open on the mezzanine level of the restaurant, offering a rotating roster of themed menus shared with exceptional wine. With relaxed, friendly service and a stunning backdrop, it’s the perfect setting to linger and savour every moment.
