Baduzzi

Description

IN BRIEF Fabulous food of the people on Jellicoe Street

Textarea
Located on Auckland's vibrant North Wharf, Baduzzi is a delightful homage to the passion and talents of New Zealand's hospitality royalty, Annette and Michael Dearth – two of the best in the biz. Co-owner Michael draws inspiration from his upbringing in the USA, combined with fond memories of his Southern Italian mother’s cooking. While the hand-crafted polpette are a must-try, the menu extends well beyond their magnificent – and now legendary – meatballs, featuring an impressive selection of seafood and premium cuts, all expertly prepared using a wood-fired technique. Don’t miss the Sicilian stuffed squid and crispy tentacles with cannellini beans and preserved lemon or the buttered maltagliati with braised duck, porcini and candied pumpkin seeds, while the Pearl Veal flat-iron tagliata with creamed potato is pure comfort. For dessert, we've said it before and we'll say it again – indulge in the ricotta cannoli, adorned with citrus pistachio and amarena cherries, which has earned its place as one of Auckland's iconic eats. The buzzing bar completes the Baduzzi experience with a creative cocktail menu and a diverse wine selection that caters to all tastes. Think big, authentic flavours and comforting dishes that embody the spirit of the people on Jellicoe Street.
