IN BRIEF Elevated Kiwi-casual in a stunning Piha setting

Textarea
Chef-owner Lucas Parkinson is trying something a little different at his restaurant Aryeh in Piha. In summer the restaurant is full-steam for the season and then during winter becomes Aryeh Hïber – a micro-bar serving great drinks and a few hearty dishes, open only on Friday and Saturday with the space also available for venue hire. Either way you should not miss your chance to dine at this talented chef's clever offering. A thoughtful drinks list supports creations by Lucas that are a symphony of New Zealand flavour. Try outstanding Mapari ribeye and sensational sides that speak to the seasons; perhaps some Cambridge asparagus with goat’s cheese, cured yolk and olive oil or a roasted Ohakune carrot dish with gremolata and puffed Taranaki barley that will change the way you view a carrot forever. During summer you’ll hopefully be offered some strawberries and cream – if that happens just say yes: organic strawberries, honey panna cotta, strawberry sorbet, strawberry gel, Far North macadamia crumble and whipped milkshake should not be missed.
